Windows genue validating

Although it’s designed as an anti piracy measure, all too often WGA causes problems for legitimate users telling them their copy of Windows XP isn’t legal and they should go and buy a full copy to make their system a “genuine” one.

Also, there is Windows Genuine Advantage Validation and Windows Genuine Advantage Notification, these are 2 different things.

The Microsoft Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) has long been a major annoyance for a number of people.

The WGA validation process validates the present installation of Windows and its license key against the detected computer hardware and determines if the software was licensed from Microsoft.

It is accessible by either a stand-alone program, a Netscape-compatible web browser plug-in, or as an Active X control within Internet Explorer, the latter of which is relevant to any attempt to access Microsoft updates via its browser.

During restart a window will pop up informing you of the success in removing the WGA Notifications component and what has been removed to accomplish this.

Now when you get to the desktop, everything should be back to normal!

Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) is an anti-infringement system created by Microsoft that enforces online validation of the licensing of several recent Microsoft Windows operating systems when accessing several services, such as Windows Update, and downloading Windows components from the Microsoft Download Center.
