Many people - her own friends included - believe Wendy's behaviour is unbecoming for a senior citizen whose grown-up children, Lauren, 34, and Gabrielle, 38, are older than the men she dates.

'Thankfully, my daughter never found out,' she says.

'Especially as he turned out to be 19, not 27 as I'd thought.

'The men I meet say women their age are shallow and set on marriage and babies - so it works both ways. 'Friends carry on nagging, but I don't think I'll ever find a man of my age.

I'll carry on dating toyboys for the foreseeable future.

But despite appearances - including that of well-spoken, well-to-do Wendy herself - the blonde 63-year-old is anything but a typical grandmother.

For not only does Wendy have a penchant for seducing toyboys, she has also publicly bragged of her adventures in books and an online blog.

But an infatuation with toyboys certainly wasn't something Wendy always aspired to.

She was twice married to men her own age - once at 21 for two years, and then again four years later.

Wendy Salisbury's apartment is exactly as you'd expect from a doting grandmother.

Plush furniture adorns the living room, countless photo frames showcase her daughters' weddings and burgeoning families, and the fridge is plastered with nursery paintings by her three young grandchildren.

'I decided to try being with an older man to try to please my friends and family, and to see whether they were right that it would make me happy,' she says.
